REVELATION 1-10 (with Strong’s Numbers)

The Book of the REVELATION, that Yehovah gave to the herald* John, on the island of Patmos, where he was banished by the Emperor Nero:

Introduction

Revelation 1: THE Revelation [no ‘s’] of Yeshua the Messiah, that Yehovah gave to Him to show to His servants—things that must *of necessity* [1163] *in due time* [1722] *appear in history* [1096]. He *made these things known* [4591] by sending His Messenger* [1] to His servant John. 2 He was a witness to the truth of Yehovah, and to the Testimony of Yeshua the Messiah, concerning everything that he saw. [2] 3 Anyone who reads this is blessed, as is anyone who hears the truths* of this prophecy and obeys* the things that are written in it; for the time is imminent* [3]. 4 John to the seven Assemblies in Asia; *merciful kindness* to you and peace*, from the One who is, and who was, and who is to come, from the seven Spirits who are before His throne; 5 and from Yeshua the Messiah, the Witness, the Faithful, the firstborn from the dead, and the Ruler* [758] of the kings of the earth; who has loved us, and washed* us from our sins by His blood; 6 and has prepared us as kings [4] and a priesthood to Yehovah and His [Yehovahs] Father [5], to who belongs praise and power, forever and ever. Amen. 7 Notice, He will come with clouds; and every eye will see Him, even those who pierced Him; and all the tribes [6] of the earth will mourn because of Him. Yes; Amen. 8 I am Aleph, also the Tau, says the Yehovah—Yehovah; who is, and was, and is to come, the Almighty [3841]*. 9 I John, your brother, and partaker with you in the tribulation* and poverty* that are in Yeshua the Messiah, was on the island called Patmos, because of the truth* of Yehovah, and because of the Testimony of Yeshua the Messiah. 10 I was in the Spirit realm on Yehovahs day [7]; and I heard behind me a great voice, like a trumpet, that said, 11 “Write in a book, what that you see and send it to the seven Assemblies: to Ephesus, Smyrna, Pergamos, Thyatira, Sardis, Philadelphia, and Laodicea”. 12 I turned around to look at the voice that spoke to me; and as I turned, I saw the seven lights of the golden menorah; 13 and, in the middle of the menorah* [3087], one perhaps* [8] the Son of man, wearing a garment down to His feet, and wearing a belt of gold around His chest. 14 His head and His hair were white, like white wool, like snow; and His eyes were like a flame of fire. 15 His feet were like fine brass flaming in a furnace and His voice was like *great waves of water* [5204]. 16 He had in His right hand seven stars; and from His mouth came a sharp two edged sword. His face* [3799] was like the sun shining full strength. 17 When I saw Him, I fell at His feet as tho dead. He laid His right hand on me, and said, “Dont fear, I am the First and the Last; 18 who lives and was dead. I am alive forevermore! Amen. I have the keys of death and sheol. 19 So, write what you have already seen, and the things that presently are, and the things that are to be in the future [3326] [5023]. 20 This is the mystery about the seven stars that you saw in my right hand, and the seven menorahs of gold. Those seven stars are the holy Messengers of the seven Assemblies; and the seven lights of the menorah are the seven Assemblies”.

[1] This Messenger appears to be none other than Yeshua Himself. This is exactly comparable to “the Messenger of Yehovah” (the Angel of the Lord) in the Hebrew Scriptures.

[2] Was this prophecy a vision or something far more interesting?

[3] Strong’s 1451: From the perspective of the seven end time Assemblies—the successors of the prototype Assemblies who first read this prophecy—once these prophesies begin to happen, they will happen quickly.

[4] Some render this “kingdom”, but that conflicts with “King of [over other] Kings”: Revelation 17:14 and 19:16.

[5] The Aramaic versions all read this way, as does the KJV. Compares to John 20:28, “And Thomas said to Him [Yeshua], ‘My Master and my God!’”

[6] Tribes, Strong’s 5443, in the Testimony of Yeshua, always refers to the 12 tribes.

[7] Yehovahs Day, aka “the Lord’s Day”, translates exactly as “the Day of the ‘Lord’” in Hebrew—the most prophesied event in the Scriptures.

[8] Literally, “like” or “resembling” or “corresponding to”, just as in Daniel 7:13. John was not positive of His identity until verse 8.

Revelation 2: To the Messenger* of the Assembly in Ephesus write, “These are the things that He who holds everything, including the seven stars in His right hand, says, He who walks among the seven menorahs of gold. 2 I know your works, your toil, your patience, and that you cant endure the wicked. You’ve tried those who say they are heralds*, and arent; and you’ve found them to be liars. 3 You’ve had patience, and carried the burden, because of My name, and havent fainted. 4 Yet I have something against you; you have left your former love. 5 So remember the position you have fallen from; and *make amends*. Do the former works, for unless you *make amends of your sins* [3340], I will come to you quickly, and I will remove your menorah from its location. 6 But you have this in your favor; you hate the works [2041] of the Nicolaitans, that I also hate. 7 To anyone listening, let him hear what the Spirit says to the Assemblies. To anyone who is victorious, I will give food from the tree of life from the paradise of Yehovah”. 8 To the Messenger* of the Assembly in Smyrna, write, “The First and the Last, He who was dead and now lives, says these things. 9 I know your works, and your suffering, and your poverty, yet you are rich; despite the blasphemy coming from those who say that they are Jews, but arent, but are of the synagogue of Satan. 10 Dont be terrified by any of the things you are to suffer! The Accuser will throw some of you into custody, and you will be tried; and you will experience tribulation for ten days. But be faithful til death, and I will give you the crown of life [1]. 11 To anyone listening, let him hear what the Spirit says to the Assemblies. He who is victorious, wont be harmed by the second death”. 12 To the Messenger* of the Assembly in Pergamos, write, “He who has the sharp two-edged sword says this, 13 “I know your works, and where you dwell—where Satan’s throne is; and you hold firmly to My name. You didnt deny the My faith, in the days when My faithful witness, who was slain among you, was made a spectacle where Satan dwells. 14 Yet I have a few things against you. You have some there who promote* the doctrine of Balaam, who taught Balak to throw a stumbling block before the children of Israel, so that they would eat the sacrifices of idols, and commit *illicit sex*. 15 You also have those who promote* the doctrine of the Nicolaitans. 16 So *amend your ways* or I will come to you quicklyand war against you* with the *long sword* of My mouth. 17 To anyone listening, let him hear what the Spirit says to the Assemblies. I will give to anyone who is victorious hidden manna to eat; and I will give him a white stone, and on the stone a new name is written that no one knows but the one who receives it”. 18 To the Messenger* of the Assembly at Thyatira, write, “The Son of Yehovah, who has His eyes like a flame of fire, and feet like fine brass has this to say; 19 “I know your works, love, faith, service, your patience; and that your latter works are superior to the former. 20 But I have a few things against you, because you allow the woman Jezebel, who says she is a prophetess, to teach, and deceive* [4105] My servants concerning *illicit sex* [4203], and about eating meats sacrificed to idols. 21 I gave her a time *amend her ways* [3340] but she didnt *change her mind* [3340] about her *illicit sexual intercourse* [4202]. 22 I will throw her on a sickbed, and those who commit adultery [3431] with her will afterwards* [3326] go into great tribulation*, unless they *amend your ways* of their actions! 23 I will destroy Her children with death; and all the Assemblies will know [2] that I am the One who searches the innermost thoughts and minds; and I will compensate [1325] each of you commensurate with your works. 24 I tell you—the rest of you in Thyatira—that anyone who hasnt received this doctrine, the men who havent known the profound things of Satan, as they say; I wont put another burden on you; 25 but, hold tightly onto what you have until I come. 26 To anyone who is victorious, persevering in My works to the end, to him will I give authority, over the nations*; 27 He will rule them with a rod of iron; and like vessels of pottery, they will be broken; as I also have received of My Father. 28 I will give him the morning star. 29 To anyone listening, let him hear what the Spirit says to the Assemblies”.

[1] Which of the seven gifts given to the Assemblies could you live without?

[2] There goes the eras theory.

Revelation 3: To the Messenger* of the Assembly in Sardis, write, “He who has the seven Spirits of Yehovah, and the seven stars, says these things: I know your works, you have name recognition as being alive, but you are dead. 2 Wake up and preserve the things that remain that are ready to perish; for I havent found your works complete before Yehovah. 3 Remember the way you received and heard; and observe those precepts, and make amends*. If you dont *pay attention* [1127], I will come to you like a *thieving false “minister”* [2812]; and you wont know which *annual time* [1] I will come before you. 4 Yet you have people named in Sardis, who havent defiled their clothes. They will walk with me in white, for they are worthy. 5 Anyone who is victorious will be clothed in white clothes; and I wont blot their names from the the Book of Life. I will confess their names before My Father, and before His Messengers* . 6 To anyone listening, let him hear what the Spirit says to the Assemblies”. 7 “To the Messenger* of the Assembly in Philadelphia, write: He who is holy, He who is true, He who has the key of David, who opens and no man shuts, and shuts and no man opens says these things: 8 I know your works. I have set before you an open door, that no man can shut; because you have a little strength; and you’ve kept My word, and havent denied My name! 9 I will give those of the synagogue of Satan, who claim to be Jews, and arent, but lie, I will make them come and worship* [2] [4352] before your feet; and understand that I have loved you! 10 Because you’ve guarded [5083] My truth* steadfastly, I will guard you from the Hour of Trial, that will come on the entire inhabited world, to test those who dwell on the earth. 11 I am coming quickly! [3] Hold fast what you have, so that no one takes your crown. 12 Anyone who is victorious, I will make a pillar in the temple of Yehovah; and he will *never be separated from the Assembly* [1831]; and I will write the name of Yehovah on him, and the name of New Jerusalem that descends from heaven, from Yehovah, and My own new name. 13 To anyone listening, let him hear what the Spirit says to the Assemblies”. 14 To the Messenger* of the Assembly in Laodicea, write, “The Amen, the Witness, the Faithful, the True, the Originator* [746] of Yehovahs creation says these things: 15 “I know your works, that you are neither hot, nor cold. I wish that you were either cold or hot. 16 So, because you are lukewarm, neither hot nor cold, I am about to vomit you from My mouth. 17 Because you say, I am rich and affluent, and lack nothing; and you dont know that you are wretched, miserable, destitute, blind, and naked; 18 I counsel you to buy from Me gold tried in the fire, so that you will become rich; and white clothing, so that you are clothed, and so that the shame of your nakedness will not be seen; and put eye salve on yours eyes, so that you can see. 19 Those who I love, I correct* and train*. So be zealous, and make amends. 20 I have been standing at the door! I will knock; and if anyone hears My voice, and opens the door, I will come in to them, and will dine with them, and they with Me. 21 Anyone who is victorious I will allow to sit with Me on My throne, even as I was victorious, and sat down with My Father on His throne. 22 To anyone listening, listen to what the Spirit says to the Assemblies”.

[1] While this word can be translated as simply “day” or “hour”, the first meaning of [5610] is “a certain definite time or season fixed by natural law and returning with the revolving year”. This is how the Scriptural calendar, anchored by the spring barley harvest and visible new moons is determined. Most of the important historical events (such as Passover and Pentecost of 31 AD) have occurred on these “annual times” just as the prophetic events will occur on Israel’s Holy Days!

[2] The Saints will be made worthy of worship on Judgment Day.

[3] From the perspective of the end time seven Assemblies—the successors of the prototype Assemblies who first read this prophecy—once these prophesies begin to happen, He will return quickly.

Revelation 4: After these things, I looked and saw a door open in heaven! The first voice that I heard, was like a trumpet talking with me. It said, “Come up here, and I will show you the things that must happen after this”. 2 Instantly, I was in the Spirit; and a throne was placed in heaven; and there was Someone seated on the throne! 3 He who sat there had the appearance of a jasper and sardonyx stone. A rainbow of the clouds surrounded the throne and it resembled emeralds. 4 Around the throne were twenty four thrones; and on those thrones I saw twenty four elders, who were clothed in white clothing, and on their heads were golden crowns. 5 Lightning came rom the throne, and the sound of thundering; and seven lamps of fire were burning before the throne, that are the seven Spirits of Yehovah. 6 Before the throne it was like a sea of glass, like crystal; and near the throne, around it, and before the throne, were four living beings, full of eyes, both in their front and in their rear. 7 The first living being resembled a lion; and the second living being resembled a calf; and the third living being had a face like a man; and the fourth living beings resembled an eagle when flying. 8 Each of these four living beings had six wings around it; and within they were full of eyes; and they never cease from saying, day or night, “Holy, Holy, Holy, Supreme* Yehovah, the Almighty, who was, and is, and is to come. 9 When these living beings give praise and honor and thankfulness to the One who sits on the throne, to the One who lives forever and ever, 10 the twenty four elders fall down before the One who sits on the throne, and they worship the One who lives forever and ever; and they toss their crowns before the throne, saying, 11 “You are worthy, Holy Yehovah, to receive praise and honor and power; because You have created the universe* [3956]. And because of Your determination *planets were made inhabitable* [2936]”.

Revelation 5: I saw a book at the right side of the One who sat on the throne. It was written within and on the back side, and it was stamped with seven seals. 2 I saw a strong Messenger*, who heralded, “Who is worthy to open the book, and to break it’s seals”? 3 No one either in heaven above, or on the earth, or beneath the earth, was able to open the book, or even look at it. 4 I cried considerably, because no one was found who was worthy to open the book, or to look at it. 5 One of the elders said to me, “Dont cry; the Lion of the tribe of Judah, the offshoot of David, has been victorious; He will open the book, and its seven seals! 6 I looked, and among the elders stood a Lamb, as if slain; and it had seven horns, and seven eyes, that are the seven Spirits of Yehovah that are sent into all the earth. 7 He came, and took the book from the right hand of the One who sat on the throne. 8 When He took the book, the four living beings and the twenty-four elders fell down before the Lamb, each of them having a harp, and cups of gold full of incense, that are the prayers of the Saints. 9 They sang a new anthem, saying, “You are worthy to take the book, and to open it’s seals; because You were slain, and have bought* [59] us for Yehovah with Your own blood, out of every tribe, and language, and people, and nation; 10 and You have made them kings and priests for Yehovah; and they will reign on the earth. 11 I looked, and I heard, as it were the voice of many Messengers* , around the throne, and the living beings and the elders; and they numbered one-hundred million—many thousand thousands. 12 They said, with a loud voice; “The Lamb who was slain is worthy to receive power, riches, wisdom, strength, honor, praise, and blessings. 13 He will be over everything created in heaven, and on earth, and under the earth, and in the sea; and everything that is in them”. Then I heard the One who sat on the throne say, “The Lamb is being given blessings, honor, praise, and power, forever and ever”. 14 The four living beings said, “Amen. Then the elders fell down, and worshiped”.

Revelation 6: I saw when the Lamb opened one of the seven seals. As I looked, I heard one of the four *living beings* [2226] say, as with a voice of thunder, “Come and see”. 2 I looked, and there was a white horse; and he who sat on it, had a bow; and a crown was given to him, and he left conquering, and he kept conquering. 3 When he had opened the second seal, I heard the second living beings say, “Come”. 4 A fourth horse departed, a red one; and the rider was given the power to take tranquillity from the earth; so that people would kill each other; and he was given a great sword. 5 After he had opened the third seal, I heard the third living beings say, “Come, and see”. So I looked, and saw a black horse; and the rider had a balance beam scale in his hand. 6 I heard a voice among of the four living beings that said, “A measure of wheat for a denarius, and three measures of barley for a denarius; and dont hurt the oil and the wine”. 7 When he had opened the fourth seal, I heard the fourth living being say, “Come, and see”. 8 I looked, and saw a pale horse; and the rider’s name was Death! Sheol followed behind him. He was given authority over a quarter of the earth, to slay with the sword, by famine, by death, and by the ravenous creatures of the earth. 9 When he had opened the fifth seal, I saw under the altar the bodies* [5594] of those who were slain because of the Truth of Yehovah [1], and because of of the Testimony of the Lamb [2] that they possessed. 10 They cried with a loud voice, “How long, Master, holy and true, until You judge and avenge our blood on those who live on the earth? 11 To each one of them was given a white robe; and they were told that they must be quiet for a little while, until after their compatriots and brothers were killed, as they had been. 12 I looked, when he opened the sixth seal, and there was a great earthquake; the sun became black, like coarse hide; and the moon became blood red. 13 Shooting stars from the heavens fell to the earth, as a fig tree lets go of its unripe figs, when shaken by a strong wind. 14 The heavens separated, as when a scroll is rolled up; and every mountain and island was shaken out of place. 15 The kings of the earth, the nobles, the commanders of thousands, the rich men, the strong*, and every servant and free man, hid themselves in caves, and under rock ledges in the mountains; 16 and they said to the mountains and ledges, “Fall on us, and hide us from the face of the One who sits on the throne, AND from the wrath of the Lamb; 17 for the great day of Their wrath has come; and who is able to take a stand”?

[1] John 10:35 “The Word (or Truth) of Yehovah” (Yehovah) is the Hebrew Scriptures or His spoken word—the Tanak.

[2] The “Testimony of the Lamb” or the “Testimony of Yeshua” is the so-called “New Testament”. (See the forward).

Revelation 7: After these things I saw four *holy Messengers* who stood on the four corners of the earth; and they held the four winds of the earth, so that the wind wouldnt blow on the earth, nor the sea, nor the trees. 2 I saw another Messenger*, and he came up from the direction of the rising sun; he had the seal of the living God; and he called out, with a loud voice, to the four *holy Messengers* to who it was given to hurt the earth and the sea, saying, 3 “Dont hurt the earth, nor the sea, nor the trees, until we have marked the servants of Yehovah with a seal on their foreheads”. 4 I heard the number of those who were sealed; one hundred and forty-four thousand, sealed from every tribe of Israel. 5 From the tribe of Judah, twelve thousand were sealed; from the tribe of Reuben, twelve thousand; from the tribe of Gad, twelve thousand; 6 from the tribe of Ashur, twelve thousand; from the tribe of Naphtali, twelve thousand; from the tribe of Manasseh, twelve thousand: 7 from the tribe of Simeon, twelve thousand: from the tribe of Levi, twelve thousand; from the tribe of Issachar, twelve thousand; 8 from the tribe of Zebulon, twelve thousand; from the tribe of Joseph, twelve thousand; of the tribe of Benjamin, twelve thousand. 9 After this, I saw an enormous number of people that no one could count, from every nation, and tribe, and language, who stood before the throne, and before the Lamb. They were clothed in white robes, with palm branches in their hands. 10 They cried, with a loud voice, saying, “Salvation to Yehovah, to the One who sits on the throne, and to the Lamb”. 11 All the *holy Messengers* stood around the throne and the elders and the four living beings; and they fell to their faces before His throne, and worshiped Yehovah, 12 saying, “Amen. Blessing, and praise, and wisdom, and thanksgiving, and honor, and power, and might, be to Yehovah, forever and ever; Amen”. 13 One of the elders turned, and asked me, “These clothed in white robes, who are they, and where did they come from”? 14 I said, “Friend, you know”. He answered, “These are the ones who came out of the Great Tribulation; and they have washed their clothes, and made them white in the blood of the Lamb. 15 So they are before the throne of Yehovah; and they serve Him day and night in His temple; and the One who sits on the throne, will protect them. 16 They wont hunger, nor thirst any more [1]; nor will they be overcome by the sun, nor burning heat. 17 because the Lamb, who was among the thrones, will feed them; and will lead them to springs* of living water; and Yehovah will wipe every tear from their eyes”.

[1] Isaiah 25:4-9 describes this same exact event in the context of a chapter about the beginning of the Everlasting Kingdom.

Revelation 8: When He opened the seventh seal, there was silence in heaven for about half an hour. 2 I saw the seven *holy Messengers*, who stood before Yehovah; and they were given seven trumpets. 3 Another holy Messenger came and stood by the altar. He held a golden incenser; and plenty of incense was given to him, so that he could offer it with the prayers of all the Saints, on the golden altar before the throne. 4 The smoke of the incense with the prayers of the Saints ascended before Yehovah from the Messenger’s hand. 5 The heralds* took the censer, and filled it with fire from the altar, and threw it on the earth; and there was thunder, lightning, loud voices, and an earthquake. 6 The seven holy Messengers, who had the seven trumpets, prepared themselves to sound. 7 The first sounded; and there was hail, and fire, that was mixed with water; and these were thrown on the earth; and a third of the earth was burned up, and a third of all the trees were burned, and all the green crops were burned. 8 The second heralds* sounded, and something resembling a great mountain burning with fire, plunged into the sea; also a third of the sea became blood. 9 A third of all the living creatures in the sea died; and a third of the ships were destroyed. 10 The third holy Messenger sounded, and a shooting star fell from heaven, burning like a lamp; and it fell on a third of the rivers, and on the springs of water. 11 The name of the star was called Wormwood; and a third of the waters became wormwood; and many people died from the waters, because they had become bitter. 12 The fourth Messenger* sounded, and a third of the sun was darkened, and a third of the moon, and a third of the stars; so that a third of them were darkened, and a third of the day became dark; and the night likewise. 13 Then I saw and heard an eagle with *a blood red tail* [A]. It flew *directly overhead* and said with a loud voice, “Pity, pity those who live on earth, because of the remaining blasts of the trumpets of the three holy Messengers, that are yet to blast”.

[A] The Greek says “angelos” instead of “eagle with a blood red tail”.

Revelation 9: The fifth *holy Messenger* sounded; and I saw a shooting star fall from heaven onto the earth. He was given the key to the bottomless abyss. 2 He opened the abyss; and smoke rose from the pit, like the smoke of a blast furnace. The sun and the air were darkened by the smoke from the abyss. 3 Locusts came out of the smoke and onto the earth; and power was given to them, like scorpions have on the earth. 4 They were commanded not to hurt the grass of the earth, nor any herbs, nor any trees; but only the people who didnt have the seal of Yehovah on their foreheads. 5 They were told not to kill them, but rather to torment them for five months. Their torment was like the torment of a scorpion when it stings a person. 6 In those days, men will want to die, but they will not meet their death; they will long to die, but death will allude them. 7 The locusts resembled horses prepared for battle. On their heads was something resembling gold crowns; their faces resembled the faces of people. 8 They had hair resembling the hair of women; and their teeth resembled those of lions. 9 They had breastplates, resembling ordinary iron breastplates; and the sound of their wings resembled the noise of chariots and many horses rushing into battle. 10 They had tails like those of scorpions, and stingers; and with their tails they had the ability to hurt humanity* for five months. 11 Their king was the angel of the abyss [12, abussos]; and his name, in Hebrew, is Abaddon [1]; and in Greek, his name is Apollyon [2]. 12 One calamity is past but there are still two calamities coming. 13 The sixth holy Messenger sounded; and I heard a voice from the horns of the golden altar that was before Yehovah, 14 who said to the sixth messenger, who also had a trumpet, “Release the four angels who are chained at the great river Euphrates”. 15 The four angels were unchained. They had been made ready for this very hour [3], day, month, and year, to kill one third of humanity*. 16 The number of the warrior horsemen was two hundred million; and I heard their number. 17 While I looked at the horses *within view* [3706], and at those who rode them I saw that the breastplates were of fire, jacinth, and of sulfur. The heads of the horses resembled the heads of lions; and fire, smoke, and sulfur came from their mouths. 18 By these three plagues, a third of humanity* was slain by the fire, by the smoke, and by the sulfur, that came from their mouths. 19 For the power of the horses was in their mouths, and in their tails; for their tails were like serpents, having heads to strike with. 20 The remainder of men who werent slain by these plagues, didnt *amend their ways*, so as not to worship demons, idols of gold, of silver, brass, stone, and wood, that cant see, nor hear. 21 They didnt cease from [3340] their murders, nor of their sorceries, nor of their *sexual immorality* [4202, porneia], nor of their thefts.

[1] Strong’s 3, Abaddon, means the “Destroyer”.

[2] Strong’s 623, Apollyon means “the angel of the bottomless pit”, the “Destroyer”.

[3] There is a definite time appointed (Habakkuk 2:3) for the end of the age to come. It will not be “cut short” or “tarry”. I believe that this exact time was set when Yeshua was rejected, tho a bona fide opportunity had been presented for His acceptance, as the Father indicated in the analogy of the vineyard (Matthew 21:37).

Revelation 10: I saw another mighty Messenger*, who descended from heaven, clothed with a cloud; and a rainbow was over his head. His face was like the sun, and his legs* [1] like pillars of fire. 2 In his hand he had a little book opened; and he placed his right foot on the sea, and his left foot on the land. 3 He cried with a loud voice, as a lion roaring. After he had cried, the seven thunders uttered their voices. 4 When the seven thunders had spoken, I was about to write when I heard a voice from heaven, saying, “Seal up the things that the seven thunders have uttered, and dont record those things”. 5 The holy Messenger I saw standing on the sea and the land, raised his right hand to heaven, 6 and swore, by the One who lives forever and ever, who created heaven and the things in it, and the earth and the things in it, and the sea and the things in it, that no time remained. 7 Yet in the days of the voice of the seventh holy Messenger, when he sounds, the mystery of Yehovah will be fulfilled—the *Good News* He gave to His servants the prophets. 8 The voice that I heard from heaven, spoke to me again, and said, “Go, take the little book that is opened in the hand of the holy Messenger who stands on the sea and on the land”. 9 I went to the messenger, telling him to give me the little book. He told me, “Take it, and eat it; it will be bitter in your stomach, but in your mouth it will be as sweet as honey”. 10 I took the little book from the hand of the holy Messenger, and ate it. It was sweet in my mouth like honey; but after I ate it, my stomach was bitter. 11 He told me, “John, you must prophesy again before many nations, peoples, princes, and kings”.

While the Aramaic word can refer to “legs” or “feet”, the Greek translator chose Strong’s 4228, that refers only to “feet”. Legs can be like pillars—but not feet.
