REVELATION 11-22 (with Strong’s Numbers)
Revelation 11: A reed was given to me, John, like a rod; and the holy Messenger stood, saying, “Get up, and measure the temple [1] of Yehovah, and the altar, and those who worship there. 2 But leave out the court that is outside of the temple, and dont measure it; because it is given to the other nations; and they will trample the holy city underfoot for forty-two months. 3 I will commission* [1325] My Two Witnesses; and they will prophesy one thousand and two-hundred and sixty days, clothed in sackcloth. 4 These are the two olive trees, and the two menorahs* [2] that stand before the God of the earth. 5 If anyone wants to harm them, fire comes out of their mouths, and consumes their adversaries; and if anyone wants to harm them, he must be slain in this manner. 6 They have power to shut up heaven, so that the rain wont fall in those days; and they have power over the waters, to turn them into blood; and to strike the earth with any disaster*, as often as they want. 7 When they have finished witnessing, the *savage beast* that came up from the abyss will war against them, and conquer them. 8 Their dead bodies will be in the open street of that great city, that is spiritually called Sodom and Egypt, where their Master was also crucified. 9 Those of the nations and tribes and peoples and languages, will look on their dead bodies for three and a half days; and wont allow their dead bodies to be put in graves. 10 Those who live on the earth will rejoice over them, and will be merry, and will send presents to each another; because those two prophets tormented the people who live on earth. 11 After these three and a half days, the spirit of life from Yehovah entered into them, and they stood on their feet; and great fear fell on everyone who saw them. 12 They heard a great voice from heaven, that said, “Come up here”. They ascended to earth’s heaven in a cloud as their enemies looked on. 13 In the same hour there was a great earthquake, and a tenth of the city fell; and the number of people killed in the earthquake was seven thousand; the survivors were afraid, and praised Yehovah. 14 The second calamity is passed; Look, the third calamity is coming quickly. 15 The seventh *holy Messenger* sounded; and there were voices and thunders, that said, “The kingdoms of the world have become the kingdoms of our Yehovah and of His the Messiah; and They* will reign forever and ever”. 16 The twenty four Elders who are before the throne of Yehovah, and who sit on their thrones, fell to their faces, and worshipped Yehovah, 17 saying, “We praise you, O Yehovah God Almighty, who is, and was; because You’ve assumed Your great power, and reigned. 18 The nations were angry; and Your anger has come, and it’s time for the dead to be judged; and for You to compensate* [3408] Your servants, the prophets, and the Saints, and those who fear Your name, the small and the great; and also to destroy those who destroyed the earth. 19 The temple of Yehovah in heaven was opened; and the ark of His covenant was seen in His temple; and there were lightning, thunders, voices, an earthquake, and great hail.
[1] John is measuring the end time latter temple, just prior to the Two Witnesses commission (v.3). This would explain the previous verse: “John, you must prophesy again before many nations, and peoples, and princes, and kings”.
[2] This is a reference to Zechariah 4, verse 11 in particular, equating the seven armed Hebrew menorah (04501) with the Greek “luchnia” (3087). Both are usually translated as “candle sticks” or “lamp stands”.
Revelation 12: A miraculous sign was seen in heaven; a woman clothed with the sun, and the moon under her feet, and on her head a crown of twelve stars. 2 Being pregnant, she cried with birth pains, pains of delivery. 3 Another miraculous sign appeared in heaven; a great fiery dragon that had seven heads and ten horns, and on his head were seven diadems! 4 His tail drew along a third of the stars of heaven, and threw them to the earth. The dragon was standing before the woman, who was about to give birth, intending that when she delivered Him, he would devour her child. 5 She bore a male child, who was to rule all nations with a sceptre* of iron. Her child was caught up to Yehovah and to His throne. 6 The woman fled into the wilderness, where she had a place prepared for her by Yehovah; where they could nourish her for a thousand two hundred and sixty days. 7 There was war in heaven; Michael and his holy Messengers* fought against the dragon, and the dragon and his angels fought, 8 but didnt prevail; nor was their habitation* [517] found any more in heaven. 9 The great dragon was thrown out, the old serpent, who is called the Deceiver, and Satan, who seduces all the inhabited world; he was thrown to earth, and his angels were thrown out with him. 10 I heard a great voice in heaven, that said, “Salvation has come, and the power and the Kingdom of our Yehovah, and the dominion of His the Messiah; because the Accuser of our brothers, who accused them day and night before our God is thrown out. 11 They overcame him, because of the blood of the Lamb, and because of their spoken testimony; they didnt love their life, even to death. 12 So heaven be joyful, and those of you who live there. Pity the earth, and the sea; for the Deceiver has come down to you, being very angry because he knows that he has little time left”. 13 When the dragon saw that he was thrown to the earth, he persecuted the woman who brought forth the male child. 14 To the woman were given the two wings of the great eagle, that she could fly into the wilderness, to her *place of habitation* [5117]; where she is nourished a time and times and half a time, from the face of the serpent. 15 The serpent poured from his mouth waters like a river, after the woman, that he might cause her to be carried away by the flood. 16 The earth helped the woman; and the earth opened its mouth, and swallowed the flood that the serpent poured from his mouth. 17 The dragon was *provoked to anger* [3710] against the woman; and he went to war against the remnant* [3062] of her survivors* [4690-1b], who keep the Commandments of Yehovah, and have the Testimony of Yeshua.
Revelation 13: As I stood on the sand of the sea [1], I saw a *savage beast* come up from the sea, having ten horns, and seven heads; and on his horns were ten diadems, and on his heads were names of blasphemy. 2 The *savage beast* that I saw, was like a leopard. His feet were like those of a bear*, and his mouth was like that of a lion. The dragon gave him his own power and his throne, and great authority. 3 One of his heads was wounded as if to death; and his deadly wound was healed. All the earth was amazed and followed the *savage beast*. They worshipped the dragon, because he had given authority to this *savage beast*, and they said, “Who can war against him”? 5 He was given a mouth speaking great things, and blasphemies; and authority was given to him to operate for forty-two months. 6 He opened his mouth in blasphemy towards Yehovah, to blaspheme His name and His tabernacle, and those who dwell in heaven. 7 Authority was granted to him over *the twelve tribes* [5443] and every other people, language and nation; and it was granted to him to wage war with the Saints, and to overcome them. 8 Everyone who lives on earth, whose names arent written in the Book of Life of the Lamb, slain from the foundation of the world, will worship him. 9 If anyone is perceptive, perceive this. 10 Anyone leading others into captivity will himself go into captivity; and anyone who slays with the sword, must be slain with the sword. *In this place* [5602] the perseverance and the faith of the Saints is tested. 11 I saw another *savage beast* coming out of the earth. He had two horns like those of a lamb, and he spoke like the dragon. 12 Before him he exercised all the authority of the first *savage beast*, *raised to life* after a deadly wound. 13 He performed great wonders, even causing fire to come down from heaven onto the earth, before humanity* [444, anthropos] . 14 He deceived the inhabitants of the earth into erecting an image to the *savage beast* who had a sword wound, and recovered. 15 He was allowed to put life into the image of the *savage beast*; and to cause anyone who wouldnt worship the image of the *savage beast* to be killed. 16 He caused everyone, great and small, rich and poor, bond and free, to receive a mark on their right hands, or on their foreheads; 17 so that no one could buy or sell, except those who had the mark of the name of the *savage beast*, or the number of his name. 18 Here is wisdom; anyone who has understanding should compute the number of the *savage beast*; for it is the number of a man; and his number is six hundred and sixty-six.
[1] Murdock actually relocated this phrase and made an 18th verse of chapter 12.
Revelation 14: I looked in amazement; a Lamb stood on Mount Zion; and with Him were one hundred and forty-four thousand, having His name and the name of His Father written on their foreheads. 2 I heard a sound from heaven, that sounded like large* *waves of the sea* [5204], resembling the sound of numerous thundering; and the sound that I heard was like harpists playing their harps. 3 They sang a new song before the throne, and before the four living beings and the Elders; and no one was able to learn that song, except the one hundred and forty-four thousand who were purchased* [59] from the earth. 4 They are the ones who havent defiled themselves with women, they are virgins. They are the ones who follow* the Lamb, wherever He goes. Yeshua has purchased them from among humanity*, the firstfruits of Yehovah and the Lamb. 5 No falsehood was found in their mouths, for they are *as morally unblemished as sacrificial lambs* [299]. 6 Then I saw another *holy Messenger* flying in heaven with the everlasting *Good News*, to give to everyone living on earth—every nation, tribe, language and people. 7 He said with a loud voice, “Worship Yehovah, and praise Him; because the time of His judgment has come; worship the One who made heaven and earth, the sea, and the springs of water. 8 Another *holy Messenger*, the second, followed him, saying, “Fallen, fallen is Babylon the great, that made every nation drink the wine of the rage of her prostitution”. 9 Another *holy Messenger*, the third, followed them, saying with a loud voice, “Whoever worships the *savage beast* and his image, and takes* [2983, present tense (5719)] his mark on his forehead or on his hand, 10 will also drink the wine of the wrath of Yehovah that is poured undiluted into the cup of His *punishing anger*, and will be tormented with fire and sulfur [1], before the holy Messengers* , and before the throne. 11 The smoke of their torment ascends up forever and ever; and there is no rest, by day or by night [2], for those who worship the *savage beast* and his image”. 12 Here is the patient endurance of the Saints, who preserve* [5083] the Commandments of Yehovah, and the faith of Yeshua. 13 I heard a voice from heaven, saying, “Write: ‘Blessed are the dead who die in the Master, from now on; yes, says the Spirit, so that they can rest from their toils; for the record of their deeds will accompany them’”. 14 I looked, and there was a white cloud; and on the cloud sat One who was like the Son of man; and on His head was a crown of gold, and in His hand a sharp sickle! 15 Another *holy Messenger* came out of the temple, crying with a loud voice, to the One who sat on the cloud. 16 He swung his sickle across the earth; and the earth was harvested. 17 Another *holy Messenger* came out of the temple that is in heaven, also having a sharp sickle. 18 Another *holy Messenger* came out from the altar, having authority over fire. He cried loudly, to the one who had the sharp sickle, and said, “Thrust in your sharp sickle and gather the clusters of the vineyard of the earth, because the grapes of the earth are ripe”. 19 The *holy Messenger* swung his sickle toward the earth, and gathered the vintage of the earth, and cast it into the winepress of the wrath of the great Yehovah. 20 The winepress was trampled, [3] blood coming up to the horses’ bridles, for sixteen hundred furlongs.
[1] Note the timing. Anyone belligerently worshiping the beast or taking his mark AFTER the Good News is announced to “everyone living on earth” (v.6) and AFTER the fall of Babylon (v.8) is in big trouble.
[2] The comment “by day or by night” indicates that the location is “above ground”. The belligerent will suffer continually until the beast that they worship is thrown into the abyss where he cannot be worshipped any longer.
[3] The Greek adds “outside of the city”.
Revelation 15: I saw another miracle in heaven, great and wonderful; seven *holy Messengers* , having the seven last plagues, for with these Yehovahs wrath is finished. 2 I saw, as it were, a sea of glass mixed with fire; and those who had been victorious over the *savage beast*, and over his image, and over the number of his name, were standing on the sea of glass; and they had the harps of Yehovah. 3 They were singing the song of Moses the servant of Yehovah, and the song of the Lamb, singing, “Great and marvelous are Your deeds, Master Yehovah Almighty; just and true are Your ways, O King of the ages*. 4 Who wont fear you Master, and glorify Your name? Because You alone are holy and just. Every nation will come and worship before You, since Your righteousness has been revealed”. 5 After this I looked, and the temple of the tabernacle of the testimony in heaven, was opened. 6 The seven *holy Messengers* who had the seven plagues, went out of the temple, clothed in pure splendid linen, each wearing a vest* [2223] around his chest, vests of gold. 7 One of the four living creatures gave seven golden bowls to those seven *holy Messengers* , they were full of the wrath of Yehovah who lives forever and ever. 8 The temple was filled with smoke, from the magnificence of Yehovah and from His power; and no one was able to enter the temple until the seven plagues of the seven *holy Messengers* were finished.
Revelation 16: I heard a voice [1] that told the seven *holy Messengers* , “Go out, and pour those seven bowls of the wrath of Yehovah onto the earth”. 2 The first one went and poured his bowl on the earth; and there was a malignant and painful ulcer on the people who had the mark of the *savage beast*, and who worshipped his image. 3 The second *holy Messenger* poured his bowl on the sea; and it became blood, like that of a dead person; and every living creature* in the sea died. 4 The third *holy Messenger* poured his bowl on the rivers and the springs of water; and they became blood. 5 I heard the *holy Messenger* of the waters say, “You are righteous, O holy One, who is and who was, because You’ve judged them. 6 For they have shed the blood of Saints and prophets; and now You’ve given them blood to drink, for they deserve it”. 7 I heard one from the altar say, “Yes, Master Yehovah Almighty; Your judgment is true and righteous”. 8 The fourth poured his bowl on the sun; and he was appointed to scorch humanity* with fire. 9 People were scorched with great heat. They blasphemed the name of Yehovah, who has authority over these plagues; but they didnt *amend their ways* and praise Him. 10 The fifth poured his bowl on the throne of the *savage beast*; and his kingdom was darkened; and they gnawed their tongues from pain. 11 They blasphemed the God of heaven because of their pains and ulcers, but didnt amend* their behavior*. 12 The sixth poured his bowl on the great river Euphrates; and its waters dried up, so that a passage would be prepared for the kings of the east. 13 I saw three unclean spirits like frogs coming from the mouth of the dragon, and from the mouth of the *savage beast*, and from the mouth of the false prophet. 14 They are the spirits of demons who work miracles; and they go out to all the kings of the entire inhabited world, to gather them to the battle of the great day of Yehovah Almighty. 15 I come like a *thieving false teacher* [2812]! [2] Blessed is anyone who watches, and carefully attends their clothing; so that they dont walk around naked, exposing their shame. 16 They were gathered together in a place called, in Hebrew, Armageddon. 17 The seventh poured his bowl on the air; and a loud voice came from the temple, from the throne, that said, “It is done”! 18 There was lightning, and thunder, and voices; and there was a great earthquake, like nothing there has ever been, since men have inhabited the earth, such a large earthquake, and so great. 19 The great city was divided into three parts. The cities of the nations fell; and Yehovah had not forgotten to give Babylon the great the cup of wine of His boiling wrath. 20 Every island vanished; and the mountains were no longer visible. 21 Great hail, a talent in weight, fell from heaven onto humanity*; and they blasphemed Yehovah, because of the destructive hail; for the destruction was very great.
[1] The Greek adds “from the temple”.
[2] Notice the context of the previous 2 verses. The beast and the false prophet and demons are preconditioning the world into thinking that the true coming Messiah will be “antichrist”. Undoubtedly the beast and the false prophet will claim to be the Two Witnesses of Revelatiuon 11. This explains why He is “welcomed” by the combined military might of the entire world (Zechariah 14).
Revelation 17: Then one of the seven *holy Messengers* who had the seven bowls came and spoke with me. He said, “Come, I’ll show you the judgment of the great prostitute, who sits on many waters; 2 with who the kings of the earth have practiced prostitution and the inhabitants of the earth have been drunk with the wine of her prostitution”. 3 He led me in the spirit realm into the wilderness; and I saw a woman sitting on a red *savage beast*, that was covered with names of blasphemy. It had seven heads and ten horns. 4 The woman was clothed in purple and scarlet, and adorned with gold, precious stones, and pearls; and she had a cup of gold in her hand that was full of *detestable idolatrous things* [946] and the filthiness of her *illicit sexual intercourse* [4202, porneia] of earth. 5 On her forehead was a name written: “Mystery, Babylon the great, the Mother of prostitutes, and of the *idolatrous abominable* [946] things of the Earth”. 6 I saw that the woman was intoxicated with the blood of the Saints, and with the blood of the martyrs* of Yeshua. When I saw her, I was amazed, greatly amazed. 7 The *holy Messenger* asked me, “Why are you amazed? I’ll tell you the mystery of the woman, and of the *savage beast* that carries her, that has the seven heads and the ten horns. 8 The *savage beast* that you saw was, and is not will ascend from the abyss and go into *utter destruction* [684]. Those who live on the earth whose names arent written in the Book of Life from the foundation of the world, will be amazed when they see the *savage beast*, that was, and is not, approaching. 9 Here is the explanation for the one who has wisdom. Those seven heads are the seven mountains that the woman sits on. 10 There are seven kings; five of them have *been thrust down*, one exists now, and the other hasnt yet come; but when he comes he will only endure for a short time. 11 The *savage beast*, that was and is not, is the eighth, and is derived from the seven, and is departing to *utter destruction*. 12 The ten horns that you saw are ten kings who havent received royalty yet; but they take* [2983] authority, as if kings, with the *savage beast* for *a fixed period*. 13 They have one intention*; and they will give their power and jurisdiction* to the *savage beast*. 14 They will wage war with the Lamb; and the Lamb will conquer them; because He is Sovereign* [2962] of sovereigns, and King of kings, and those with Him are called, chosen and faithful”. 15 He told me, “The waters that you saw, where the prostitute sits, are nations*, and *crowds of people* of various ethnicities* [1484, ethnos] and languages. 16 The ten horns that you saw, and the *savage beast*, will hate the whore; and they will make her desolate and naked, and will eat her flesh, and burn her with fire. 17 For Yehovah has *given them* their passions* [2588, 1d1], *to their advantage* [1325, 2a] to do His will, and to be of single purpose, and to give their kingdom to the *savage beast*, until these declarations of Yehovah are fulfilled. 18 The woman that you saw is the great city, that controls* [2192] the kings of the earth”.
Revelation 18: After these things, I saw another *holy Messenger* come down from heaven. He had great authority and the earth was illuminated by His splendor. 2 He shouted with a powerful voice: “Fallen, fallen is Babylon the great. It has become a home for demons, and the prison* [5438] of every unclean spirit, and the home of every unkosher* and hateful bird and the home of every unkosher* and hateful animal. 3 For all the nations have drunk the wine of her wrath; and the kings of the earth have participated* in her prostitution; and the merchants of the earth have become rich by the power* [1411] of her *excessive strength* [4764]”. 4 I heard another voice from heaven, saying, “Come out of her, My people [1]; so that you dont participate in her sins, and wont receive her plagues. 5 For her sins have reached up to heaven; and Yehovah has remembered her evil behavior [92]. 6 *Pay her back*, just as she has paid; and render to her double, according to her deeds. In the cup that she has mixed, mix her double. 7 To the degree that she has praised herself and lived in luxury, to that degree give her torture and sorrow. Because she says to herself, “I sit a queen, and am no widow, and I will see no sorrow”. 8 So in one day her calamities will come—death, and mourning, and famine. She will be burned with fire; for our Master Yehovah who judges her is strong. 9 The kings of the earth who committed prostitution and were without restraint with her, will cry, and mourn, and wail over her, when they will see the smoke from her *refining fire*, 10 standing afar off, from fear of her touchstone* [2], and saying, “What a waste! The great city Babylon, the powerful city; for in one hour you were condemned”! 11 The merchants of the earth will mourn over her, because no one purchases their cargo; 12 no more cargo of gold, silver, precious stones, pearls, fine linen, purple, silk and scarlet, every aromatic wood, vessels of ivory, no more vessels of very precious wood, brass, iron, marble, 13 cinnamon, perfumes, spices, myrrh, frankincense, wine, oil, fine flour, wheat, beasts of burden, sheep, horses, chariots, and the bodies and souls of men. 14 The fruits that you *lived for* [5594] have departed from you; and everything delicious and splendid has perished from you; and those who trade in them will never obtain them again. 15 Those who were enriched from her, will stand in the distance, for fear of her torment; crying and mourning, 16 saying, “What a waste, the great city, that was clothed in fine linen, and purple, and scarlet, and arrayed with gold, and precious stones, and pearls; 17 because in one hour, all of this wealth has been destroyed” [3]. Every captain, and every navigator sailing anywhere, and the mariners, everyone who made their living from the sea stood in the distance. 18 They cried, when they saw the smoke of her burning, saying, “What other city is like this great city”! 19 They threw dust on their heads, and cried, wailing, and mourning, and saying, “What a waste, that great city, where everyone who had ships in the sea became rich, by her abundance of costly things; for in one hour she has been destroyed”. 20 Rejoice over her, O heaven, and you *holy Messengers* , and messengers*, and prophets; because Yehovah has avenged you concerning her. 21 A *holy Messenger* took up a stone like a great millstone, and threw it into the sea, saying, “So will Babylon, the great city, be thrown down with violence, and will never again be found; 22 and the voice of harpists and musicians and pipers and trumpeters, will never be heard in you; and no craftsman of any trade, will ever be found in you. 23 The light of a candle wont be seen in you; nor will the voice of a bride or groom be heard in you; for your merchants were the great men of the earth, because all nations were seduced by your sorceries. 24 In her was found the blood of prophets and Saints, and of everyone who has been slain on the earth”.
[1] This is as literal as the rest of the chapter. It means flea from the territory of the ten kings, or die.
[2] Strong’s 928: “1) to torture, a testing by the touchstone, which is a black siliceous stone used to test the purity of gold or silver by the colour of the streak produced on it by rubbing it with either metal” —Online Bible Greek Lexicon
[3] Murdock either arbitrarily or accidentally put part of v.16 in v.17, against the traditional universal placement. Lamsa coincidentally did the same thing.
Revelation 19: Afterwards I heard the loud voices of a large crowd in heaven, saying, “Hallelujah! Deliverance, strength, praise, and honor to Yehovah. 2 True and righteous are His judgments; for He has judged the great prostitute, who corrupted the earth with her prostitution; and has avenged the blood of His servants *out of* her grasp*”. 3 Again they said, “Hallelujah! And her smoke ascends up forever and ever”. 4 The twenty-four Elders fell down, and the four *living beings*, and worshipped Yehovah who sits on the throne, saying, “Amen! Hallelujah”! 5 A voice came forth from the throne, saying, “All of His servants; and everyone who fears Him, small and great, praise Yehovah”. 6 I heard, as it were the voice of a *great gathering of common people* [3793], a voice resembling a lot of rushing water, a voice resembled violent thunder, saying, “Hallelujah; for our Master Yehovah, the Almighty, reigns”. 7 Let’s rejoice and be exceedingly glad, and praise Him; for the marriage supper of the Lamb has come, and His fiancee* [3565] has made herself ready. 8 Her compensation [1324] was to be clothed in fine linen, pure and shining*; for fine linen represents the righteousness of the Saints. 9 He told me, “Write; Those who are called to the *marriage banquet* [1062] feast [1173] of the Lamb are blessed”. Then he told me, “My sayings are the true words of Yehovah”. 10 I fell at his feet, to worship him. But he told me, “See that you dont do that; for I *also serve Yehovah* [4889], I’m your brother* who also adheres to* [2192] the Testimony [3141, or “documentation”] of Yeshua. Worship Yehovah; for the Testimony of Yeshua is the *empowering spirit* [4151] of the *inspired declaration* [4394]”. 11 I saw heaven opened, and white horse; and the One who sat on it, is called Faithful and Genuine; and in righteousness He judges, and wages war! 12 His eyes were like flaming fire, and on His head were many diadems; and He had names inscribed on them; and one of the names that were written, no one knew, except Himself. 13 He was clothed with a vest splattered with blood; and His name is called, The Word of Yehovah. 14 The army of heaven followed Him on white horses, wearing clothing of fine linen, pure and *shining white* [3022]. 15 A sharp two-edged sword came from His mouth, and with it He could strike the nations. He will rule the nations with a *royal scepter* [4464] of iron; and He will tread the winepress of the wrath of Yehovah Almighty. 16 He has on His vest and on His thigh the words written, “KING OF KINGS, AND SOVEREIGN OF SOVEREIGNS”. 17 I saw a *holy Messenger* standing engulfed within the rays of the sun; and he cried with a loud voice to all the birds that fly overhead in heaven, “Come, assemble at this great supper of Yehovah. Eat the flesh of kings, and the flesh of captains of thousands, the flesh of valiant men, the flesh of horses and of those who sit on them, the flesh of everyone free-born and slaves, both small and great”. 19 I saw the *savage beast*, and the kings of the earth, and their warriors. They had assembled to wage war with the One who sat on the white horse, and with His warriors. 20 The *savage beast* was captured, as well as the false prophet who was with him, who performed miracles before him. By these he deceived those who had received the mark of the *savage beast* and who worshipped his image. They were both cast as *still breathing mortals* [2198] into the lake of fire that burns with sulfur. 21 The rest were *inflicted with *mortal death* [615] by the sword of the One who sat on the horse, by the sword that came from His mouth; and all the birds were filled with their flesh.
Revelation 20: Then I saw a *holy Messenger* who descended from heaven, having the key of the abyss, and a great chain in his hand. 2 He seized the dragon, the old serpent, who is the Deceiver and Satan, who deceived the whole world [1]; and he bound him for one thousand years. 3 He cast him into the abyss [12, abussos], and closed it up and *sealed [4972] him securely*; so that he couldnt deceive the nations anymore, until the thousand years were finished; but after that, he will be released from bondage for a little while. 4 I saw thrones, and people sat on them, and judgment was given to them, and I saw the bodies* [5590] of those who were beheaded for the Testimony of Yeshua and for the Word of Yehovah. These are the ones who hadnt worshipped the *savage beast*, nor his image, nor had they taken* the mark on their forehead or on their hand. They lived and reigned with their the Messiah for the thousand years. 5 [2] This is the first resurrection. 6 Blessed and holy is anyone who has part in this first resurrection; over them the second death has no influence*; but they will be priests of Yehovah and of His the Messiah; and they will reign with Them* [846] during the thousand years. 7 When the thousand years are finished, Satan will be released from imprisonment; 8 and will go out to deceive the nations that are in the four corners of the earth, Gog and Magog; and to assemble them for battle, whose number is as the sand of the sea. 9 They rose up over a wide expanse of the earth, and then encircled the *sacred congregation* [3925] of the Saints, the beloved city. And fire came down from Yehovah out of the sky, and consumed them. 10 The Accuser who deceived them, was cast into the lake of fire and sulfur, where the *savage beast* and the false prophet were cast. They will be tormented [3] day and night for a *period of time* [165], *an age* [165]. 11 I saw a great white throne, and the One who sat on it, from whose countenance* the earth and sky *fled to safety* [5343]. The location of that *inhabited place* [5117] [4] was not *to be seen* [2147]. 12 I saw the dead, the great and the small, standing before the throne, and the books were opened. Another book was opened that is the Book of Life. The dead were judged out of the things that were written in the books, according to their works. 13 The sea gave up the dead who were in it. Death and sheol gave up the dead who were in them. They were each judged according to their works. 14 Death and sheol were thrown into the lake of fire. This is the second death—the lake of fire [5]. 15 If anyone was not found written in the Book of Life, he was cast into the lake of fire.
[1] “who deceived the whole world” was omitted from the Greek.
[2] The words: “the rest of the dead did not live again until the thousand years were finished”, are not in the earliest Syriac and Aramaic manuscripts or the earliest Greek manuscripts, such as the Codex Sinaitic and Codex Alexandrine.
[3] “If we understand ‘they will be tormented’ to include the Beast and the False Prophet, we must explain the phrase ‘forever and ever’ [as it appears in most versions] (eis tous aionas ton aionon). Literally, this means ‘to the ages of the ages,’ and would seem to imply perpetuity. However, we must be careful with the word aion. Its range of meaning runs from ‘a space or period of time’ to ‘a lifetime’ to ‘an age’ to ‘eternity.’ As in all such cases, the context must give the sense.” Also, the primary literal meaning of “tormented” (2147) is “1) to test (metals) by the touchstone, which is a black siliceous stone used to test the purity of gold or silver by the colour of the streak produced on it by rubbing it with either metal”.
[4] If there are to be 1000 generations of humanity, then we still need the earth intact: (Deuteronomy 7:9, 1 Chronicles 16:15, Psalms 105:8).
[5] “the lake of fire” was omitted from the Greek.
Revelation 21: I saw a New Heaven, and a New Earth; for the first heaven and the first earth had perished* [1]; and there was no more sea. 2 I saw the holy city, the New Jerusalem, descending from Yehovah out of heaven, like a fiancee* *made ready* [2090] for her husband. 3 I heard a great voice from heaven, that said, “Look, the tabernacle of Yehovah is with humanity* [444, anthropos]. He lives with them; they will be His people; and Yehovah will be with them, Yehovah Himself will be with them”. 4 Every tear will be wiped from their eyes; and there will be no more death [2], nor mourning, nor wailing; nor will the previous [2089 painful state exist anymore; because the previous evil* things have departed* [565, 2a]. 5 The One who sat on the throne, said, “Look, I am making everything new”. And He said, “Write this down; because these are the faithful and true words of Yehovah”. 6 He told me, “I am the Aleph* and the Tau*, the Beginning and the Ending; to anyone who is thirsty, I will allow them to drink freely from the spring of living water. 7 Anyone who is victorious* [3529] will inherit these things; and I will be their God, and they will be My offspring* [5207]. 8 But the cowardly*, the unbelieving, the sinful, the polluted, murderers, *male prostitutes* [4205], sorcerers [3], idolaters, and all liars, their destiny is the lake that burns with fire and sulfur, that is the second death”. 9 One of the seven *holy Messengers* came to me, who had the seven bowls filled with the seven last calamities*, and told me, “Come, I will show you the fiancee* [3565] [4], the Lamb’s virgin [1135]”. 10 He brought me in the spirit realm to a great and high mountain, and he showed me the holy city of Jerusalem, descending out of heaven from Yehovah, 11 having the splendor* of Yehovah, as a brilliant light, resembling a very precious gem; like a jasper stone, a transparent* crystal. 12 It had a massive and high wall that had twelve palacial gates, [5] and names inscribed on them, that are the names of the twelve tribes of the descendants of Israel. 13 On the east, three gates; on the north, three gates; on the south, three gates; and on the west, three gates. 14 The wall of the city had twelve foundations, and on them the twelve names of the twelve heralds* of the Lamb. 15 The one who spoke with me had a golden measuring reed, so that he could measure the city, and its gates, and its wall. 16 The city was quadrangular; its length was the same as its breadth. And he measured the city with the reed, to twelve thousand stadia [6]; and the length and the breadth and the height of it were all equal. 17 He measured its wall, a hundred and forty-four cubits as a man would measure it, that is, of a *holy Messenger*. 18 The wall was composed of jasper; and the city was of pure gold, like transparent* glass. 19 The foundations of the city wall were adorned with many types of precious stone. The first foundation, a jasper; the second, a sapphire; the third, a chalcedony; the fourth, an emerald; 20 the fifth, a sardonyx; the sixth, a sardius; the seventh, a chrysolite; the eighth, a beryl; the ninth, a topaz; the tenth, a chrysoprasus; the eleventh, a jacinth; the twelfth, an amethyst. 21 The twelve gates were twelve pearls; one for each gate, and each gate was one pearl; and the broad street of the city was pure gold, like transparent* glass. 22 I saw no *temple sanctuary* [7] in it; for the Yehovah Almighty is its temple, and the Lamb. 23 The city did not need the sun or the moon to enlighten it; for the brightness of Yehovah enlightens it, and the Lamb is it’s menorah*. 24 The nations that were *saved from destruction* [4982], will live in it’s light, and the kings of the earth will bring the glory and the wealth of the nations into it. 25 It’s gates wont be shut by day; for there is no night there. 26 They will bring the praise* and honor of the nations into it. 27 *No one* [3956] unclean* [8] will ever enter it, or anyone who *performs idolatrous abominations* [946] or a liar; only those whose names are written in the Lamb’s Book of Life. [9]
[1] This is the equivalent of the new earth that appeared after God sent a great flood “to destroy the earth” (Genesis 9:11).
[2] The cessation of tears and death is at the very beginning of the Everlasting Kingdom. Compare to Isaiah 25:6-11, particularly v.8. Yet the wicked are excluded from this blessing, as John mentions in 21:8.
[3] Strong’s 5332, pharmakeus, apparently alludes to drug use.
[4] The root word, (3565), is “bridal veil”.
[5] No mention of “angels” in the Aramaic.
[6] “place in which contests in running were held, the one who outstripped the rest and reached the goal first, receiving the prize. Courses of this description were found in most of the larger Greek cities, and were like that at Olympia, 600 Greek feet in length” —OBGL
[7] “used of the temple at Jerusalem, but only of the sacred edifice (or sanctuary) itself, consisting of the Holy place and the Holy of Holies (in classical Greek it is used of the sanctuary or cell of the temple, where the image of gold was placed which is distinguished from the whole enclosure)” —OBGL
[8] In every other instance where “unclean” 2840(2840) is used, the context reveals that it concerns “Levitically unclean”. Yet most of the Levitical laws are not in effect while God does not have a temple on earth. Revelation was written after the temple and temple regulations were inapplicable because of the temple’s destruction in 70 thru 71 AD. If Levitical purity were the key to entering New Jerusalem, thenanyone born before Levi, for example, would be out of luck.
[9] Your name should be written in the Book of Life right now!
Revelation 22: He showed me a river of living water, transparent as crystal, flowing from the throne of Yehovah and the Lamb. 2 In the middle of its broad street, and near the river, on both sides, were Trees of Life that bore twelve kinds of fruit, yielding a different type of fruit each month; and the leaves of the Tree were for the *medicinal use* [2322] of the *human family* [1484]. 3 Nothing there will wither away; and the throne of Yehovah and the Lamb will be in it; and His servants will serve Him. 4 They will see His face, and His name will be on their foreheads. 5 There will be no more darkness*; and they will have no need for the light of a candle, or of the light of the sun; because the Yehovah Yehovah gives them light; and They will reign forever and ever. 6 He told me, “These words are faithful and true. The Yehovah Yehovah of the spirit of the prophets, has sent me, His *holy Messenger*, to show to His servants the things that must, of necessity, occur quickly. 7 I will not be delayed [5035]! Blessed is anyone who holds fast to the prophetic statements of this book”. 8 I, John, actually saw and heard these things. When I heard and saw them, I fell down to worship at the feet of the *holy Messenger* who showed me these things. 9 But he told me, “Dont do that; for I *serve the same Master* [4889], I’m your brother*, an *inspired spokesman* [149] and *a guardian* [5083] of the words of this very book. Worship Yehovah”. 10 Then he told me, “Dont seal the words of this document* of prophecy, for the time is near. 11 Anyone who is evil, let them continue to do evil; and anyone who is filthy, let them remain filthy; and anyone who is righteous, let them remain righteous; and anyone who is holy*, let them remain holy. 12 I will come quickly! My compensation* is with Me, to give to everyone according to *what they have done* [2041]. 13 I am the *Aleph and the Tau*, the First and the Last, the Beginning and the Ending. 14 Blessed are those who do His Commandments [1], so that they will have the right to the Tree of Life, and can enter thru the gates into the city. 15 Those who are outside of the city are dogs, and sorcerers, and prostitutes*, and murderers, and idolaters, and anyone who loves and practices deceit. 16 I Yeshua have sent My holy Messenger, to testify these things to you, before the Assemblies. I am the offspring of the family of David; like the brilliant morning star. 17 The Spirit and the fiance [3565] say, “Come”. Let anyone who hears, say, “Come”. And let anyone who is thirsty, come; and anyone who desires, let him receive* the living water *as a gift* [1432]. 18 I testify to everyone who hears the words of the prophecy of this book, that if anyone adds to them, Yehovah will add to them the calamities that are written about in this book. [2] 19 If anyone takes away from the words of this book of prophecy, Yehovah will take away their destiny* [3313] from the Tree of Life, and from the holy city that is described in this book. 20 The One who testifies to these things, says, “Yes, I come quickly. Amen. Come, Master Yeshua”! 21 May the *merciful kindness* of our Master Yeshua the Messiah, be with all the Saints. Amen.

[2] He will actually experience the Day of Yehovah, (the Day of the Lord).
End of the Revelation of John, the Good News herald; and of the whole “New Testament”. Praise Yehovah.
